Riki Watanaben Riki stool Product design Japanese

This is the cardboard Riki Stool (part of the Carton Furniture Series) by Japanese furniture and product designer Riki Watanaben. It is really hard to put primary colours (red, blue, and yellow) together without it being too overpowering, but this is just right. It was designed in the mid 1960’s, but would still look happy in your home (especially next to some light timber like ash or oak). It reminds be of the playing pieces in Trivial Pursuit.
