Layer Upon Layer

This is a tricky one for me. I know this building well: Mario Botta’s Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. I have visited it a few times and was not overwhelmed initially, it is so different to its New York counterpart. But, I have come to love the gesture and motion of the brickwork. It is very particular and thoughtfully positioned. This is its charm, the way it is so deliberate, it shows a restrained strong hand.
